Steve Crossley

Steve Crossley is the Manager of International and Dietary Exposure Assessment at Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). This also includes responsibility for Maximum Residues Limits (MRLs) and Agvet chemicals.

Steve has over 30 years’ experience in food safety and risk assessment, particularly at the international level, where he has been an invited expert to several FAO/WHO expert bodies, including the Joint Meeting on Pesticide Residues.

He has also worked for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) as the Joint Secretary for the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA).

Steve has also worked in other senior positions, including at the Food and Environment Research Agency for the United Kingdom Government, and as Head of Food Safety and Nutrition (Europe) of the US-based science consultancy Exponent.

Steve is currently the Australian delegation leader for the Codex Committee on Food Additives and also has a leadership role in the work program of the APEC Food Safety Cooperation Forum.
